The dealership at 57 Lombard Street has been part of Smiths Falls since the mid-1970s. It opened as Edgetown Motors, started by brothers John and Grant Hinton in 1974, and over the years sold more than 10,000 cars right from that corner lot.
In the fall of 2020, Grant retired from selling cars, though he still runs E.T Fast Lube at the same location. John carried the business forward and rebranded it as TruckTown, with a clear focus: trucks, SUVs, crossovers and minivans.
It was an easy call. At the family’s other dealerships, Hinton Dodge, A & B Ford and Smiths Falls Ford, trucks and SUVs have made up over 80% of sales. People in this part of Ontario need vehicles that work as hard as they do, so we built a dealership around exactly that.
